This means a lead could be generated from direct mail, social media, networking, cold calling, wherever, but if you do not keep following up with that lead after facing resistance or rejection, then you are not gonna do many real estate deals.
A lot of other businesses out there are different in that if you don’t close them the first time you talk to them, then you’re probably not gonna get their business, but with real estate investing it’s usually the opposite.
It’s very rare that you’re going to get a seller that’s interested in selling and is ready to sell the first time you talk to them. Usually they’re gonna need time to adjust to the idea of selling, and selling to YOU. And over time as they open up more and more to you, they eventually start to get comfortable with the idea of selling and decide to pull the trigger.
In terms of strategy when it comes to sales and marketing you will be a lot more effective in getting deals by following up with the same 100 prospects over and over again for example rather than cold calling 1000 new prospects 1 time. Following up with old prospects beats cold calling new prospects if you have to choose. But you should be doing BOTH!
Cold calling is great, but if you’re not following up with the prospects that show some interest consistently then you are completely wasting your time and you are not gonna do deals!
